The National Secretariats Meeting (NSM)

National Secretariats Meeting (NSM)

The National Secretariats Meeting (NSM) of The Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme (CPDAP) serves as a platform where key stakeholders and experts convene to address drug-related issues, collaborate on solutions, and advance collaborative strategies to reduce both drug demand and supply.

The annual gathering of the NSM aims to provide a forum to discuss Drug Demand and Supply Reduction efforts among member countries of The Colombo Plan. The meeting also facilitates knowledge sharing, identification of possible gaps in the field, finding collective solutions and exploring avenues for potential collaborations in the future amongst member countries.

In 2023,the NSM was held for two consecutive days from 14 to 15 November and hosted by the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), and Philippines Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), in collaboration with The Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme (CPDAP). The meeting saw participation of 79 delegates representing 22 member countries of The Colombo Plan.

This year, the NSM is scheduled to be held from 6 to 8 August 2024 and will be hosted by the Office of the Prime Minister and The PEMA Secretariat of the Royal Government of Bhutan. The meeting is expected to attract participation of over 60 delegates representing focal points of 19 member countries of The Colombo Plan.
